Office of Research
The Office of Research at Paragon International University provides leadership and strategic oversight for research across the university. Reporting to the Vice Rector for Research and working closely with the Research Development Committee and the Research Ethics Committee, the Office strengthens research governance, supports scholarly work, and advances research of regional and global relevance. University research centers and affiliated research institutes report to the Office, ensuring coherence in research strategy, quality assurance, and academic standards.

The Office of Research develops and updates research policies, facilitates grant and proposal preparation, fosters partnerships with national and international stakeholders, and promotes the dissemination of scholarly work.

It hosts international academic conferences and other scholarly events, oversees the university’s academic journals, and supports a wide range of research development activities. The Office undertakes academic outreach visits to research institutions in Cambodia and across the region to strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities for academic exchange.
Through its Research Affiliate and Research Fellow programs, the Office collaborates with external scholars conducting research in Cambodia. It also promotes excellence in research through its annual awards, including the Discovery and Excellence Award for Paragon International University faculty and students and the Kolab Award for external researchers. The Office further follows guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) on research development, quality assurance, and higher education policy.
Guided by the university’s commitment to integrity, responsibility, discovery, and excellence, the Office promotes transparency, accountability, and adherence to international standards of research ethics. All research conducted by faculty, students, research fellows, and affiliated scholars undergoes review by the Research Ethics Committee in accordance with university policies. By supporting faculty research and student research training, the Office contributes directly to the university’s broader goals of fostering independent inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with national development priorities.
The Office of Research administers the Mentoring Future Generations (MFG) program, a multi-stage research development and mentorship initiative for university students, young scholars, and early-career academics. Through structured training in research methodology, academic writing, publishing, and research technologies, together with personalized mentorship and professional networking opportunities, the program prepares participants for postgraduate study, scholarly publication, and successful research careers.

The Office of Research oversees Paragon International University Press, the university’s academic publishing unit. The Press publishes peer-reviewed journals, monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings, and other scholarly works that advance knowledge and informed public discourse. Through the Press, the university strengthens its capacity for knowledge production and dissemination at national and international levels.
