Mr. Ranysakol Thuon is currently a lecturer at Paragon International University in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In this role, he teaches courses related to geotechnical engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
His research interests focus on geotechnical engineering, particularly soil behavior, foundation design, and slope stability analysis for infrastructure and high-rise construction projects. He has conducted engineering studies related to the bearing capacity of deep foundations and geotechnical assessments for large structures. His technical expertise includes geotechnical analysis, field investigation, engineering modeling, and the use of specialized engineering software for foundation and slope stability design. Before joining Paragon International University as a full-time lecturer, he also provided the courses in Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport, and National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia.
Before entering academia, he gained practical experience in the construction industry, where he was involved in engineering projects related to building foundations and geotechnical site assessments. Through his collaboration with construction teams and engineering professionals, he contributed to evaluating soil conditions, designing deep foundation systems, and helping ensure the structural safety of construction projects in Cambodia.
