Dr. Hor Chantha is a development economist and Economist at ACLEDA Bank Plc., where he conducts macroeconomic surveillance and sectoral analysis to support strategic planning and risk management. His work focuses on domestic and global economic developments, financial and credit market dynamics, and macroeconomic assessments relevant to the banking sector.
He is also actively engaged in higher education as a part-time adjunct lecturer at Paragon International University and ACLEDA University of Business, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in economics and finance. His teaching areas include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Financial Institutions, Money and Banking, Financial Markets, and Financial Statement Analysis, and he also serves as a thesis advisor for undergraduate and master’s students.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Chantha served as an Assistant Professor at ACLEDA Institute of Business in Cambodia and as a lecturer at Vongchavalitkul University in Thailand. His research interests include development economics, tourism economics, banking and financial sector development, and the digital economy.
Dr. Chantha has published peer-reviewed articles in international journals and presented his research at academic conferences in Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Cambodia. He earned his Ph.D. in International Development from Nagoya University, Japan, and also holds a Master of Economics from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from Mahasarakham University, Thailand.
He serves as a reviewer for the Southeast Asia Journal of Economics and the Cambodia Journal for Business and Professional Practice. He is also proficient in Stata, R, EViews, and PyIO, and works with both microeconomic and macroeconomic datasets.
