Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The Department of Architecture at Paragon International University is proud to announce a significant achievement by our talented alumni. In a highly competitive field of 45 professional and student teams, our graduates secured the Third Prize Award for their visionary project, “The Forest of Recollection.”

The competition, titled “Pochentong Reborn: Transforming Phnom Penh Old Airport into a Sponge City,” challenged participants to reimagine one of the capital’s most historic landmarks. Organized by the Architects Association of Cambodia (AAK), the entries were evaluated by a prestigious panel of experts from the Board of Architects Cambodia (BAC) and leading professional architects.

The team’s project, “The Forest of Recollection,” proposes a city park that investigates the subsurface, social, and atmospheric layers that shape a sponge city park while respecting the historical identity of the former airport.

Paragon.U students continue to make meaningful contributions to the built environment through innovative and socially responsive design.
