Prof. Dr. Kashif Hasan Khan is an expert in international trade and geo-economics, with a specialization in economic corridors and global financial architecture. He is the founder of the concept of Corridor Economics, a framework that examines how connectivity infrastructure reshapes global trade patterns, geopolitical dynamics, and regional economic integration. His research also contributes to theoretical developments in international trade, including the Asymmetric Distance and Business Cycles (ADBC) framework, which reinterprets the role of distance in gravity-based trade models by incorporating asymmetric distance shocks within a New Keynesian DSGE framework.
His scholarly work has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Economic Integration, Journal of Economic Asymmetries, Maritime Economics & Logistics, Research in Globalization, Complexity, India Quarterly, etc. He has also edited several academic books on economic corridors and global connectivity with internationally recognized publishers such as Springer, Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, etc. In addition to academic research, he actively contributes policy commentary on global economic and geopolitical developments to prominent international platforms including the South China Morning Post, The Diplomat, Modern Diplomacy, Asia Times, the Valdai Discussion Club, etc.
