Siem Reap, Cambodia – From 16–18 January 2026, the Paragon International University Department of Architecture conducted an immersive three-day field trip focused on the evolution of residential design in Siem Reap, aimed at deepening students’ understanding of Khmer classical arts, vernacular architecture, and contemporary residential development rooted in local living traditions.

Throughout the trip, students explored architectural references ranging from ancient temples and a century-old Khmer wooden house to the private residence of Architect Hok Sokol, as well as modern housing developments such as Borey Phum Bakong.

This field trip empowered students to bridge architectural heritage with contemporary practice, providing a transformative opportunity to observe how traditional Khmer values and professional dialogue shape the future of design.
