Foundation Year Meetings

The Department of Foundation Year Program organized series of meetings with students from all major departments which took place from 4-6 April, 2011. The main purpose of these meetings was to inform students about their Foundation Year Courses.

Zaman University Donations for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief

Zaman University students, teachers and staff members visited the Embassy of Japan to offer their donations and express their sincere condolences to the earthquake and tsunami victims of Tohoku region in Japan on March 23, 2011.

The Rector of the university personally signed the Book of Condolences to express sympathy for the people who lost their lives in the disaster on behalf of all university students, teachers and staff members.

A teacher-training seminar in collaboration with Cengage Learning

Zaman University English Prep school in Collaboration with Cengage Learning is organizing a teacher-training seminar at Zaman University on March 18, 2011. The primary aim of this seminar is to create a stimulating environment for the professional educators to exchange their knowledge and expertise on ESL teaching methodology.

Zaman University intends to organize more seminars of this kind in the near future.

High School Principals in Phnom Penh visited Zaman University

The Phnom Penh Directorate of School Education and twenty eight High School Principals visited Zaman University on March 12, 2011.

The program started with the building tour during which the guests had an opportunity to view the conference hall, canteen, spacious classrooms and the language and computer lab. The visitors expressed their astonishment upon finding all premises equipped with modern facilities such as smart-boards, air-conditioners, sound systems and network projectors.

A Memorable Trip to Kirirom National Park

On March 8, 2011, Zaman University English Prep School organized a full-day trip to Kirirom National Park. Around 87 people including students, teachers, staff and families participated in this pleasure excursion. It was a firsthand experience to explore the natural beauties of Cambodia for many of the participants. Later, followed by a barbeque party and a lot of fun games, the trip left an overwhelming impression on everybody.

International Conference Commencement

The 4th International Conference on Science and Mathematics Education in Developing Countries commenced on February 23, 2011 at the Zaman University Conference hall in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. More than 30 international delegates and 150 local participants joined the conference.
Among distinguished and honorable participants there were His Excellency Mr. Pak Thavin, the General Director of Higher Education, Dr. Chan Roath, Chairman of Local Organizing Committee, Director of Department of Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Kenji Ueno, Director of Seki-Kowa Institute of Mathematics, Yokkaichi University in Japan, Dr. Erkan Polatdemir, Rector of Zaman University and Mdme Anne Lemaistre, Representative of UNESCO Office in Phnom Penh.

Zaman University Inauguration Ceremony

Zaman University was officially opened by Their Excellencies Dr. Sok An and Mr. Bülent Arınç Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey on Monday, February 21, 2011.
“Our purpose is to serve the youth of this Country,” said Mr. Arınç, who spoke on Sunday at a dinner held at the Nagaworld Hotel in Phnom Penh to celebrate the opening of the university.

Zaman University Inauguration Dinner

Inauguration Dinner of Zaman University was held at Naga World Hotel on 20th of February with participation of Honorable Guests, Their Excellencies Dr. Sok An and Mr. Bülent Arınç-Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey. The banqueting hall was filled with more than 700 guests, including high-ranking officials, businessmen and journalists from Turkey, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and other countries of South-East Asia.
